Competition Overview
The Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), in partnership with Alibaba Cloud (Singapore) Private Limited, is excited to launch the Alibaba Cloud Prize Competition. This initiative aims to inspire innovation in integrated care through cloud computing and artificial intelligence technologies. Open to alliance members, the competition invites up to 50 participants to engage in a curated learning journey, equipping them with skills to address healthcare challenges using advanced digital solutions.

Come up with innovative ways of using Alibaba Cloud's AI and Cloud Computing tools to address problems you identify in integrated care.
Learn and Collaborate
Connect with Alibaba Cloud senior trainer and engage in a series of specialized courses offered by Alibaba Cloud, including "Introduction to Qwen," "Model Studio," and "Data Visualisation with Quick BI." These courses will cover foundational skills in mastering Generative AI and data visualisation, providing participants with the necessary knowledge to design AI-powered solutions for integrated care.

Prize Structure and Awards

The competition results will be announced in August 2025 on this webpage. The top three winning projects in the Alibaba Cloud Prize Competition will receive comprehensive group prize packages that prioritise skill-building, project development resources, and access to exclusive industry experiences.

1st Prize
Industry Exposure:
Invitation to present at the annual Alibaba Academy Summit, showcasing innovations to a global audience.
Event Access:
Ticket and VIP tour access to the 2025 Apsara Conference, an influential event for cloud computing and AI advancements.
Certification:
10 Alibaba Cloud Associate/Professional (ACA/ACP) Certification exam attempts and advanced AI training.
Hands-On Experimentation:
5,000 lab credits for hands-on experimentation.
Ongoing Development:
- One-year Alibaba Cloud online learning membership with access to 300+ online training courses and certifications, plus an internship opportunity to gain real-world experience.
- 3-day live Alibaba Cloud professional training.

Competition Timeline

1. Create an Alibaba Cloud Account

• A valid Alibaba Cloud account is required to participate in the competition.
• This account is essential to sign up for the competition, activate the free trial of Alibaba Cloud products and to access learning materials for the training sessions.

2. Sign-Up Period (29 Nov 2024 to 31 Jan 2025)

• Complete the registration form through the designated portal.
• The competition closes on 31 Jan 2025, at 23:59, or once 50 seats are filled, whichever comes first.

3. Join the Training
(February 2025)

• Online briefing and training sessions will be held in February 2025 via Zoom.
• These sessions will guide proposal development and introduce Alibaba Cloud tools and technologies.
• Attendance at live sessions is strongly encouraged, but recordings will be made available for those unable to join live.

4. Proposal and Submission
(Mar 2025 to 31 May 2025)

Teams will identify challenges and draft their proposals, leveraging Alibaba Cloud products.

5. Proposal Evaluation
(1 June to 31 July 2025)

Proposals will be reviewed and evaluated by a panel of experts from Alibaba Cloud and SUSS.

6. Award Announcement
(August 2025)

Winners will be announced on this website.

Eligibility
  • The Alibaba Cloud Prize Competition is open to all founding members, associate members, and local chapters of the Intercontinental Alliance for Integrated Care (IAIC). As the founding members of IAIC are universities, the competition is also open to students from these institutions, providing a unique opportunity for aspiring innovators to engage in real-world problem-solving and contribute to advancing integrated care.
Enrollment Rules and FAQ
  • Alibaba Cloud Account Requirement
    Participants must create and activate an Alibaba Cloud account to register for the competition. This account is necessary for accessing training materials and activating free trial services provided by Alibaba Cloud.
    Team Composition
    Teams can consist of up to 5 members. Once the registration closes on 31 Jan 2025 at 23:59, team members cannot be changed.
    Prize Distribution
    Prizes will be awarded to the winning teams and can be divided among team members as determined by the team.

Task & Judging Criteria

KEY TASK - Developing Cloud Computing Solutions In Integrated Care
Please refer to the "Competition rules and guidelines" for the suggested format of the proposal.

Formulating problem statement

  • Participants will identify a specific challenge in integrated care, such as improving communication for elderly patients, predicting health risks, or visualising patient data trends.

Designing a solution

  • Over the course of four months, participants will develop a proposal to detail how Alibaba Cloud products and services would presents an innovative approach to address the chosen issue, and highlight the expected impact on integrated care.
  • Create an intelligent tool or platform that facilitates seamless communication, using natural language processing or chatbot interfaces to ensure clarity and understanding.

Proposals will be assessed based on the following criteria:

Identification of Pain Points

    • Clarity: The problem is well-defined and easy to understand.

    • Relevance: The challenge addresses critical issues in integrated care for the target population.

    • Research Basis: The problem is supported by relevant data, case studies, or research insights.

Proposed Digital Solutions

    • Innovation: The solution demonstrates originality and creativity in leveraging cloud computing and AI.

    • Practicality: The solution is realistic and feasible for implementation.

    • Alignment: The proposal aligns closely with the identified pain points and addresses them effectively.

Technical Implementation

    • Detail: The proposal provides a clear, actionable plan for technical development.

    • Use of Technologies: Alibaba Cloud tools and AI capabilities are effectively integrated.

    • Scalability: Considers the potential for broader application and adaptability to various contexts.

Market Analysis and Feasibility

    • Market Needs: Demonstrates a strong understanding of the target audience and their requirements.
